Mike & Marion
a little more about us
We have both been lucky enough to spend most of our working lives travelling to far away places and mingling in a range of wonderful cultures. Now that we retired the adventure continues through private travel.
We try to divide our time equally between volunteering [in palliative care and neighborhood justice], travel, and private/family life. We are both meditators and draw strength and inspiration from our meditation group. We have spent extended periods in Tibetan communities in three different countries, and feel we have experienced a taste of how a true civil society operates.
What Informs our Thinking
Often others, more articulate and wiser, are able to describe the ideas that inform and guide our thinking:
“We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.” Albert Einstein
“If the world is to be healed through human efforts, I am convinced it will be by ordinary people, people whose love for this life is even greater than their fear.” Joanna Macy
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi
“It’s a little embarrassing that after 45 years of research and study, the best advice I can give people is to be a little kinder to each other.” Aldous Huxley
“When the status and power of women is greater so also is the nation’s general quality of life; when they are lower, so is the quality of life for all.” Riane Eisler
